Twin Wire Feeder, S-type
Twin wire feeder to use with single wobble laser welders (S-head). A twin wire feeder takes two spools or reels of wire, and has two main advantages:
- Two wires can be fed into the weld fillet, allowing gaps to be filled, and/or a larger weld fillet, if both reels are the same.
- Two different spools or filler material can be loaded, then you can select the material without changing spools.
Wire feeders are mostly important for filling gaps or adding bulk to the weld. However the also allow semi-automation of welding as the wire feed speed pushes the gun along. With minimal practice you only need to guide the gun, resulting in a perfectly consistent weld with the best possible visual quality.
This wire feeder accepts standard 15kg MIG wire spools up to 12″ diameter (with a 52mm or 2″ bore).
Rollers are included for wire sizes 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 and 1.6mm (in inches, approximately .030, .035, .045 and .062)
This S-head feeder has a colored touchscreen with two cable inputs, one for control and one power cable with a mains plug.

Twin Wire Feed Requires Wider Wobble (scan width)
To properly melt and flow out twin 1.6mm wires, 5.5mm scan width is required. Most of our current models, such as G5-3000WC and Lightwelder 2, can scan up to 8mm wide. This means Laser Welder customers are covered. In contrast, many competitors can only scan up to 4mm or 5mm wide when welding (Theo, IPG, ESAB, Miller and Lincoln for example), so those competing models cannot properly weld two 1.6mm wires.
